A Playstation 3 is an expensive luxury item, normally costing between 240 and 300 for the standard unit. If this is out of your price range then there is hope left for you as there are a few different ways in which you can get yourself a free PS3.

The most famous way is through a concept called referral marketing. Websites pay another website to generate those leads and in turn, these referral websites pay the customer, normally by way of a free gift.

 

I must admit that when I first heard about this my immediate reaction as a sceptic was ‘SCAM’! After a little bit of research though I saw that both CNN in the USA and BBC from the UK had both reported positively on this topic so I gave it a little more consideration.

 

The way it generally works is that you, the person who wants the free PS3 or some other gift, signs up to one of the many hundreds of referral sites on the Net. When you sign up you do try out free trial offers for a certain product or sometimes a service. The way the companies work is that they assume that if they can just get the product into your hands or your home then you will love it so much that you just can’t bear to be without it and you will buy the product or service that they are sponsoring.

 

The original referral website that you signed up with then gets paid for the ‘lead’ by the main company and so they can offer you a free gift in the guise of a free PS3, free Iphone or some other type of gadget. Unfortunately, you don’t just get the free gift once you have completed as you have to get other people to sign up for the deal as well. Numbers of people that you have to sign up vary but on one quite famous referral website you only need to sign up two other people for a years worth of free Xbox live or 9 people for that wonderful free PS3.

 

Another slightly easier method for getting your hands on a free gift is by signing up for a mobile phone contract. This clearly only works if you were going to get a new contract anyway but it is a possibility. As there are so many different companies trying to get you to buy a mobile phone the market is full of similar deals so little things can really make you choose one deal over the other. This leads to smaller companies offering free gift incentives just to get your custom. As these companies are very reputable there is no hint of any wrong doing and that you won’t receive your gift so if you are in the market for a new mobile phone contract and you want a free ps3 then this is probably the most secure method of getting it!
